Cobra beer has appointed food and drink relationship marketing and PR specialist Communications Plus to boost its profile.

Cobra beer has appointed food and drink relationship marketing and

PR specialist Communications Plus to boost its profile.



The agency pitched against one, unnamed outfit. Team Saatchi, which is

responsible for Cobra’s advertising, recommended Communications Plus,

having worked with the team on another brand.



Cobra marketing director Simon Edwards said the agency’s first brief is

to amplify the brand’s advertising campaign and raise its awareness in

the consumer and trade press. The combined advertising and PR campaign

budget is pounds 1 million.



The advertising campaign centres on the character of Curryholic Dave and

emphasises the fact that Cobra is less gassy than most beers.

Communications Plus will draw attention to the campaign by unleashing

research about the curryholic ways of Brits.



Senior account manager Lucinda Greenwood will lead the work on the PR

side.
