Food company the Pillsbury Group is believed to be reviewing the PR

agencies working for its major UK brands, including Haagen-Dazs.

Four brands are involved in the review: Haagen-Dazs and Pillsbury frozen

snacks, which are handled by Biss Lancaster; and Green Giant vegetables

and Old El Paso which are handled by The Red Consultancy . The repitch

may lead to a change in strategy for Pillsbury, with a single agency

being appointed to work across all four brands.

The Red Consultancy is understood not to be repitching as it seeks to

diversify its client base outside the food and drink sector with recent

client wins including Ladbrokes International and NatWest.

Pillsbury’s other existing food brand - frozen pastry range Jus Rol -

retains Brooks and Vernons.

Pillsbury, Biss Lancaster and The Red Consultancy were unavailable for

comment at the time of going to press.

Pillsbury was acquired in 1989 by Grand Metropolitan, which merged with

Guinness in 1997 to create Diageo. Last year Diageo sold Pillsbury

brands, including Underwood potted meat, B&M beans and Pet evaporated

milk.
