Former Nexus Choat chief Keith Simpson is launching a web site

analysis service to help companies communicate effectively via the

internet.

The ex-PR agency managing director, and former Shandwick managng

director, has teamed up with a human computer interaction expert to set

up the venture, called optimum.web.

Working with Dr Andy Smith, currently lecturing at the University of

Luton, Simpson will be targeting PR consultancies specialising in new

media, technology and corporate communications, alongside organisations,

web site owners and designers.

London-based Optimum.web, which opens its doors on 11 September, will

offer expert advice and user-based research on individual company web

sites to provide detailed feedback on usability and effectiveness.

’As clients have control over the message and the medium, it is

essential to measure the rational and emotional performance of a site to

fully assess its performance,’ said Simpson.

Simpson left Nexus Choat last year (PR Week, 7 January 1999) due to his

unease over the agency’s acquisition plans.
