He will give a speech discussing the latest trends in PR and communications to Google's most senior clients and industry partners from across the EMEA region.
The high level conference looks at the main trends in business. Edwards will join a speaker line-up that includes Desmond Tutu, Barclays chairman Marcus Agius, HSBC's chief economist Dennis Turner, chairman and CEO of Starbucks Howard Schultz and Mayor of London Boris Johnson. Google's founder Larry Page and CEO Eric Schmidt will also speak.
Edwards told PRWeek that his invitation to speak came about by chance. ‘I had done an interview with the Independent with Ian Burrell and on its publication I had a call from DJ Collins from Google suggesting we get together for a spot of lunch and discuss some of the PR themes I had touched on in the interview. We got on famously and a little bit later I got an invite to appear at Zeitgeist,' he said.
He added: ‘It's obviously a real honour and certainly when I saw some of the other speakers I got a few butterflies. I have written about 20 different speeches, but will probably end up add-libbing it,' he added.
The conference is taking place in The Grove, a luxury hotel in Hertfordshire. The Grove has just appointed Bronya Heaver as PR manager. She was previously working at Gorkana for four years. She reports to PR and marketing director Antoine Levy.
