BRUSSELS: Volvo has hired Ogilvy PR Worldwide to handle a corporate
branding campaign across four countries.
Ogilvy’s Brussels office was appointed this month to co-ordinate the
account, which will be implemented by the network’s offices in Italy,
Sweden, Germany and possibly the UK. Ogilvy will work in conjunction
with Stockholm partner PiRho in Sweden.
The agency will work on a three-month project basis initially, running a
corporate branding campaign highlighting Volvo’s safety record, and
communicating messages about the quality and pleasure of driving its
cars in the consumer press. Ogilvy did not pitch for the account.

alongside Shandwick, although Volvo senior vice-president for corporate
communications Bodil Eriksson is keen to ensure that Ogilvy adds to the
work of local PR teams rather than replacing them.
