BRUSSELS: Film and imaging company Kodak has selected APCO Europe to raise its profile among European Union policy-makers.

BRUSSELS: Film and imaging company Kodak has selected APCO Europe

to raise its profile among European Union policy-makers.

APCO, chosen without a competitive pitch, has yet to sign the

contract.

Its initial task is to highlight Kodak’s work in the area of digital

imaging among EU decision-makers in Brussels. The brief may be extended

to cover government relations with individual EU countries at a later

stage.

Kodak’s decision comes more than a year after its Brussels-based public

affairs director post was merged with that of the corporate

communications director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Jon

Chandler, who took the merged post last August, has been considering

outsourcing Kodak’s public affairs since then. APCO will report to

him.

Chandler said: ’The prime focus is Brussels and the issue we’re most

actively involved in is e-commerce. There’s a lot of potential within

our traditional business of film, but the digital opportunity is huge

and it’s important policy-makers understand the direction Kodak, and the

industry are taking.’

- APCO Europe joint managing director Brad Staples has been promoted to

the new post of European chairman, giving him responsibility for

expanding APCO’s European network. The network currently counts four

offices. He will continue in his joint MD role.
