Macmillan charity appoints Politics International

Cancer charity Macmillan Cancer Relief has hired Politics International to handle its political and public affairs.

Cancer charity Macmillan Cancer Relief has hired Politics

International to handle its political and public affairs.

Politics International pitched against Grandfield and Political

Context.

The account was previously held by Ranelagh Public Affairs, which

disbanded its lobbying arm last year to concentrate on research and

monitoring, and has changed its name to the Market Research Unit.

The charity funds training for cancer nurses who work mostly in

hospitals and are known as Macmillan nurses.

Politics International will advise the charity on policies being

developed in the National Health Service white paper, published in

December last year. The paper addresses the resources needed to treat

cancer sufferers in the NHS.

’They wanted a better understanding of the political dynamics of the new

Government and a better handle on the new advisers,’ said Politics

International director Chris Guyver.
