STOP PRESS: Ad campaigns are making headlines

Recent figures released by marketing communications agency Propeller indicate that in the last quarter of 1997 the Independent carried the most advertising stories with a total of 65. In second place is the Times with 59 stories, pushing the Guardian into third place. The increase on the Times is partly due to the launch of its weekly media section, edited by Ray Snoddy. The research, which shows three national newspaper now regularly run stories about ads, is good news for PR agencies hoping to capitalise on ad campaigns run by their clients.
