Shandwick agency Prime Communications has appointed Richard Houghton as
its new managing director, replacing Blanaid Colley who is to become MD
of its parent company TPS Group.
A director at Fleishman Hillard for three years, Houghton takes over the
job on 15 April. He will lead Prime’s 26 staff with responsibility for
developing its core business in fashion, beauty, travel and leisure PR.
‘This is an opportunity I would be foolish not to take up,’ said
Houghton. ‘I’ve been in consultancy for nine years and it’s a natural
MD of Prime for four-and-a-half years, Colley has also been MD of
Shandwick’s TPS travel and leisure group since June last year. As well
as Prime, the group includes TPS PR and Fleet Communications. All three
specialise in corporate, business to business and consumer PR.‘Prime has
grown very rapidly over the last six months and needs the full time
focus of a managing director,’ said Colley.
